Mt. FUJI, 3776 meters high and is nearly perfectly shaped volcano is the Japan’s highest mountain and hoped to become a UNESCO’s world cultural heritage site in June this year!In its proposal, the government emphasized the site’s religious significance as depicted in ukiyoe woodblock prints and other art forms.
It stands on the border between Yamanashi and Shizuoka Prefectures and can be seen from Tokyo and Yokohama on clear days.
Mount Fuji is officially open for climbing during July and August via several routes.
