Sustainable Tourism -Tourism for tomorrow-

SDGs of NTA Group

Founded in 1905 as a travel agency, NTA Group has now branched out from the travel industry to other industries ranging from business to education. We aim to realize the value that clients seek through support in every interaction-related field. Our clients may have different goals, but the large tourist attraction known as Earth and the happiness of its people, along with the abundant cultures that are born there, are indispensable for realizing their values. Accordingly, with the goal of sustainable business for the future, we pledge to work on achieving SDGs based on “people,” “scenery,” and “culture” while carefully considering what can be done in the present.

JAPAN RAIL PASS Carbon-free

We are developing a system that allows visitors to Japan to get involved in environmental conservation activities in Japan. We have introduced “JRP Carbon-free,” a program that allows purchasers of the “JAPAN RAIL PASS” to contribute, for an additional fee, to initiatives such as “Alpico Forest Reforestation in Nagano Prefecture,” “Coral Planting in Onna Village, Okinawa Prefecture,” and “Kajime Seaweed Bed Restoration in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture.” To date, over 4,000 visitors to Japan have participated in this program, and we will continue to promote its use.

Attracting Inbound Tourists Through a Partnership Agreement with FUKUI Prefecture and the JR West Group

In September 2024, our company entered into a comprehensive partnership agreement with Fukui Prefecture, JR West, and others to promote the attraction of visitors to Japan. Based on this agreement, we have developed independent travel plans and guided tour packages that highlight the attractions of Fukui Prefecture, and are selling them through overseas online travel agencies and the TiS Kyoto branch. In collaboration with the JR West Group, we are promoting tourism from both domestic and international markets, using the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo as a catalyst.

Showcasing the Region’s Appeal to Inbound Group and MICE Clients

For inbound group clients, we offer a diverse range of programs that allow them to experience the charms of Japan, including traditional culture, local cuisine, and visits to famous tourist spots. In response to the growing demand for experiential content in recent years, we are strengthening our development of unique local offerings in collaboration with regional governments and partner companies. In the winter of 2024, for a global company’s incentive trip targeting over 800 guests—primarily from Southeast Asia—we collaborated with local governments in Nagano Prefecture to offer a hospitality program featuring a variety of snow-based activities, such as snow play and ice fishing for smelt, as well as local cuisine, allowing guests to fully experience Japan’s four seasons and culture through all five senses. We will continue to promote initiatives that showcase the appeal of regional areas to visitors to Japan.

“TWILIGHT EXPRESS Mizukaze,” a Rare Sleeper Train That Lets You Fully Experience the Charm of the Region

While the needs of inbound tourists are shifting from “product-based consumption”—focused on purchasing goods—to “experience-based consumption”—which emphasizes local culture and experiences—there remains a shortage of content that allows visitors to experience regional history, culinary culture, and traditional performing arts. Against this backdrop, in collaboration with JR West, we are offering tours that utilize the rare sleeper train “TWILIGHT EXPRESS Mizukaze,” which operates in the Western Japan region, allowing visitors to enjoy the region’s pristine landscapes, traditional crafts, and first-class locally sourced cuisine alongside Japanese passengers. Through this initiative, we aim not only to allow international visitors to fully enjoy tourism rooted in Japan’s regions but also to maximize the appeal of these regions—including the preservation of traditional culture, the further discovery of tourism resources, and increased consumption of local specialties—with the goal of achieving sustainable development of the tourism industry and revitalizing local economies.

International charter flights (both inbound and outbound) to regional airports

With the aim of establishing regular scheduled service in the future, Kobe Airport began operating international charter flights on April 18, 2025. While regular charter flights primarily focused on inbound travel from South Korea, China, and Taiwan were in operation, our company focused on “two-way” travel—inbound from Vietnam to Japan and outbound from Japan to Vietnam—and, in collaboration with relevant internal and external partners, operated a two-way charter flight using VietJet on April 30, 2025, during the Golden Week holiday period. For both inbound and outbound travel, we proposed trips utilizing this new gateway to the Kansai region, identifying potential for the further sustainable development of the tourism industry and personnel exchange between the two countries. We are moving forward with plans to operate similar charter flights in the future.
