Nippon Travel Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshiteru Koyano) and Visit Finland (Finnish National Tourist Board) have signed an agreement on "Joint Promotion of Sustainable Travel Finland". Through this agreement, the two companies will establish a long-term strategic partnership to promote the idea of Sustainable Travel Finland in Japan, and to promote the approach to municipalities and the education sector to provide solutions to problems by using advanced examples from Finland, in cooperation with each other's resources.

(The signing ceremony for this agreement was held on June 19 in the presence of Finnair.)

”Sustainable Travel Finland” focuses on economic, social, cultural and environmental sustainability and provides companies and regions with comprehensive tools for sustainable development processes and environmentally friendly tourism, thereby encouraging responsible, ethical and environmentally friendly business practices. The program is uniquely designed by Finland to suit its own climate and culture, and was launched in 2019. Only the companies and destinations that have completed the entire program and meet the criteria will be granted certification for Finland's tourism industry, and certified companies and regions will be required to demonstrate a genuine commitment to sustainable development.
