KAGOSHIMA AIRPORT

Kagoshima Airport is an international airport located in kirishima city. The airport has a limousine buses running every 15 minutes on a daily basis from the Kagoshima JR Chuo Station. It offers 15 weekly flights to 4 internationals destinations, and in 2021, started the operation of the Kyushu’s first dedicated business jet terminal, ”Business Aviation Terminal Sakurajima”.

The JR Kagoshima Chuo Station is the first terminal station of the Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen bullet trains.

Unique  Venue: Sakurajima Ferry

The Sakurajima Ferry is a regular ferry service that operates between Kagoshima City (Kagoshima Port) on the Satsuma Peninsula and Sakurajima (Sakurajima Port), providing a connection to the Oosumi Peninsula. The ferry operates 24 hours a day, with departures every 20 minutes, and the crossing takes approximately 15 minutes each way.

The ferry can be chartered for events such as conventions, incentive tours, receptions, and gala dinners, offering views of Kinko's Bay (Kagoshima Bay) and the majestic active volcano Sakurajima throughout all four seasons.

Unique  Venue: Sengan-en

Sengan-en Garden is one of Japan’s representative feudal lord’s gardens (Shimatsu family’s villa) and is one of Kagoshima’s most popular tourist attractions. In addition to the magnificent garden with a view of Sakurajima, an active volcano, the garden also houses the palace where the Shimazu lord lived and offers a wide range of dining and souvenir facilities.

Sengan-en Garden, a World Heritage Site since 2015, can be reserved as a unique venue for evening events. Experience the special ambiance of Sengan-en at night.

Activity : Amami no Sato – OshimaTsumugi making Experience

Amami no Sato is situated in Kagoshima City and showcases the "Amami Garden," inspired by the remote island of Amami Oshima, and the "Japanese Garden," which transforms with the seasons.

"Oshima Tsumugi" is a specialty of Amami, a silk fabric that represents Japan. Each thread is meticulously colored, and the vertical and horizontal threads intersect to create a single pattern. You can weave your own creation using the hand loom that weaves Oshima Tsumugi.

Activity : Sengan-en – Japanese Wearing Armor Experience

"Sengan-en is the historic garden of the Shimazu family. It offers an experience where you can transform yourself into a samurai by wearing authentic, specially commissioned Japanese armor. The staff will carefully attach all the parts, allowing you to immerse yourself in the spirit of the samurai."

The collection features the armor of the formidable general Shimazu Yoshihiro, renowned for his "breakthrough in the midst of the enemy," and Shimazu Toyohisa, who fought alongside Yoshihiro on the battlefield. Against the backdrop of the majestic Sakurajima, visitors can take a moment to reflect on the legacies of these warriors.

Activity : 13,000 years travel – Sakurajima deep exploration walking,“Sakurajima Guided tour with Dr. Volcano”

Mr. Daisuke Fukushima, Ph.D. in volcanic geology, will explain Sakurajima and volcanoes clearly in detail. The contents are custom-made and we will take you to various places as you wish. (Of course, we also offer pre-determined courses).

Sakurajima, an active volcano, is said to have appeared about 13,000 years ago. Sakurajima was an island before being connected with the mainland due to the eruption in 1914. The people of Kagoshima live in harmony with this active volcano and enjoy its benefits. We offer a walking tour full of special feeling where you can feel the pulse of the great nature up close.
