CHIBA : A Prime Location for MICE Events in Japan

Located near Tokyo, Chiba prefecture has one of the great position in Japan in access from the world because of its excellent convenience provided by both Narita International Airport and Haneda Airport.  Chiba prefecture is also the only prefecture in Japan  to have 4 international Meeting and Tourism cities : Chiba,  Kisarazu, Narita Urayasu. Since 1989, the international  convention complex “Makuhari Messe” in Chiba City has been developing support to attract and hold many meetings such as conventions, exhibitions and incentive travels, as Japan’s pioneer in convention bureau.

Chiba prefecture also hosted 8 Olympic Events during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympics Games (fencing, taekwondo, wrestling, goalball, sitting volleyball, Para-Taekwondo, and wheelchair fencing at Makuhari Messe, Surfing at Ichinomiya.

Unique Venue : TIPSTAR DOME CHIBA

TIPSTAR DOME CHIBA, completed in October 2021 on the site of the former Chiba Bicycle Racetrack, is a domed bicycle racing arena with 250-meter wooden banks built in accordance with international standards.

The arena has arena seating, a VIP room, a bar, three food areas, and other facilities, and can be used not only for cycling competitions but also for other sporting events and music events because of its unique venue production that utilizes the latest sound and lighting equipment, next-generation video and laser lighting.

Unique venue : Chiba Monorail

The Chiba Urban Monorail is a two-line suspended monorail system located in chiba city and operated by Chiba Urban Monorail Co.Ltd.

The Monorail can be chartered for events and seminars and used in different purposes like live concert, lunch or cocktail party, factory tours or only for a simple transfer usage.

Optional Monorail cars wrapping, Monorail original head mark for branding can give a strong impression with your guests, with a large visibility thought the city.

The monorail route can also be arranged to match your event/tour schedule.

Activity : Boso No Mura - Historic ambient in Old Chiba

Boso no Mura is an interactive museum opened in 1986, and later merged with the Chiba prefecture Fudoki-no-Oka Museum. Set in a splendid natural environment, you can enjoy a hands-on experience learning about the changes that  occurred in clothes, food, housing and crafts over the ages from prehistoric times, as well as the traditional lifestyles of the people of the Boso region.

Being close to Narita International Airport, the museum attracts visitors from all over the world. As of March 2024, more than 8.2 million people had visited since its opening Boso-no-Mura is a place that tells of the history and culture of Japan, and of its disappearing heritage.

The Event Square space can be used as an Unique venue offering 5,000㎡ with an permanent stage.

Activity : Beach Cleaning & Marine Debris Art

As part of the SDG’s movement, this activity combine beach cleaning and creation of art objects with the reuse of the debris you found during the beach cleaning.

The activity will begin with the cleaning of the Makuhari beach, where the participants will be divided into different groups . Each group will be joined by a local volunteer. Then they will move to a beach area of their choice and collect microplastics washed out of the sand using a strainer (about 30 minutes).

After the collect, each group will start creating trash art using the microplastics collected according to the group’s theme and finally each work will be presented.

This activity creates opportunities of team building with theme on environmental issues from various angles and also the chance to interact with local volunteers.

Since the built of the convention complex “Makuhari Messe” in 1989, Chiba Convention Bureau and International Center (CCB-IC) has been developing support to attract and hold meetings such as many conventions, exhibitions and incentive travels, as Japan’s pioneer in convention bureau, in cooperation with local universities and government agencies, various organizations and companies. The original knowledge and experience accumulated over the past nearly 30 years will lead to success the conventions held by all the organizers.
