Japan Coronavirus Situation: People entering Japan will increase

Travel Restrictions

For tourism purposes, all foreign nationals are still not allowed to visit Japan for the time being except for special circumstances even though the restrictions on new arrivals are eased from March.

The maximum number of people entering Japan per day will increase from 7,000 to 10,000 since April 10 (KYODO NEWS).

Since March 10, Fast Track is available at Narita International Airport in addition to Haneda Airport, Chubu Centrair International Airport, Kansai International Airport, and Fukuoka Airport. You can save time on quarantine procedures using Fast Track (Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare).

Situation in Japan

Good news: pre-emergency measures ended in all 18 prefectures including Tokyo and Osaka on March 22 (Mainichi Japan)!

Although pre-emergency measures ended, to prevent rebound, governors ask us to take precautions against infection continuously.

Discounts by the prefectures are also available for traveling within the same regional block they live in if there is an inter-prefectural agreement (The Yomiuri Shimbun).

Booster shot vaccination (3rd time) for the general public is now being offered in each prefecture, and the eligible age range has been lowered to children 12-17 years of age. This is only for vaccines made by Pfizer.

The Japanese government is planning to start preparing for 4th vaccination shots (KYODO NEWS).
