Vol8 Volunteering for the Tohoku Earthquake ! 28 Apr.2011
|
On previous reports, we have been showing how Tokyo is recovering from the earthquake and how safe Tokyo is to travel.
On the other hand, Tohoku, 300km away from Tokyo, need more volunteers to assist with urgent relief activities in the affected areas.
Nippon Travel Agency formed a volunteering team to help the people in Tohoku area on the weekends.
Here is a report from Miyagi prefecture in Tohoku.
- 【Itinerary】

- 15April (Fri)
- Depart Tokyo (Over-night on the bus)
- 16April (Sat)
- Arrival at Miyagi pref. in the early morning. Register at Volunteering Center.
Whole day of volunteering work at assigned area.
- 17April (Sun)
- Half day of volunteering work at assigned area. Transfer back to Tokyo by bus.

2nd mission was to clean this house.  |
The local Volunteer Centers are receiving many calls from the overseas people. But it is not yet possible for individuals to enter the affected areas in Tohoku. You must register at volunteer centers before entering.
