Nakijin City

Nakijin Castle

Surrounded by green mountains, the area around the castle covers over 50000 square meters. From the 14th to 15th century three generations of the Kitayama rulers lived there. The position on the mountain made this castle hard to capture. There are still ruins of walls around the area and in the year 2000 this place was registered as a World Heritage.

The Ryuku Glass Village is the largest glass factory in Okinawa. Discover glasses in distinctive colors and forms, texture and enjoy the unique Ryuku Glass gallery or one of the local shops and restaurants.


Shuri Castle

From the height of 120 meters you can overlook Naha City. Shuri castle was the largest wooden building in the Ryukyu Kingdom. In 1992 Shuri castle has been restored and 2000 it was designated as a World Heritage.
