Akashi Strait Bridge

Akashi Kaikyo O-hashi

Located between Kobe and Awaji Island the suspension bridge has a total length of 3911 m. The central span of the bridge (the distance between the tower and the tower) is the world’s longest with a length of 1,991 meters. The height of the main towers is about 300 meters above the sea level. The ocean current is so intense and the water on the Akashi Strait so deep, that a lot of technical skills were needed to build up the bridge.

Kaike Onsen

Kaike Onsen

A beautiful view of the mountain peaks on the east side and the crescent coast on the west side. Enjoy the beauty of a coastal scenery with white sand and green pines together with a relaxing bath in the hot springs. The place is very popular among the Chinese population.

Miyajima Itsukushima Shrine

Miyajima Itsukushima Shrine

Built inside the sea and registered as a World Cultural Heritage, the ancient shrine shows its proud and majestic architectural beauty. It is said that the shrine was founded in 593, but has been re-established in 1168 by Taira no Kiyomori in the shinden zukuri style, an aristocratic mansions style of the Heian period.

Himeji Castle

Himeji Castle

The Himeji Castle stands as a representative of Japan. Together with the Horyuji Temple it was registered in 1993 as one of the first World Cultural Heritages in Japan. Because it resembles an egret taking a flight , the Castle is also known as Shirasagi-jô (“White Egret Castle”).

Osaka Castle

Osaka Castle

The Castle was built by Hideyoshi in 1583. Today there is a historical museum inside, displaying various sorts of dioramas and videos about the city of Osaka. Even the constellation of the giant stones of the majestic stone walls and the main entrance are a must-see attraction.

Kobe

Kobe

Since ancient times Kobe held the position of an international trading port and developed its natural charm of a port city. Go to Motomachi for gathering popular brand-name goods from outlet stores or to just buy simple trinkets and collector’s items. Also take your time to enjoy the shiny nightview of Kobe, sparkling brilliantly like diamonds.

Todaiji

Todaiji

The Todaiji is the head temple of the Huayan School (or Kegon School in Japanese) and is located at the foot of Mount Wakakusa (Mikasa-yama). The Temple was founded in 728 by Emperor Shomu as a memorial for his first son, the Crown Prince Motoi who died one year after his birth. The most famous part is the Great Buddha Hall with its fishtail-like ornaments on top of the roof called “Shibi”.
