Business Hotels as referred to in Japan are located in downtown and industrial areas or near national highways. With low-cost and relatively small, these hotels are aimed to provide accommodation for business travellers. While most of the Business Hotels provide single and double rooms, there are also hotels with single rooms only. Some Business Hotels offer almost the same quality as City Hotels.

Facilities

Service is focused on accommodation and extended-stay of business travellers. For this reason Business Hotels provide facilities such as a coin laundry and trouser presses. There is no in-house public bath available, but each guest room is equipped with a small private bathroom. There are no shops or kiosks but vending machines might be installed. Generally there is one breakfast hall.

Guest rooms

The Guest rooms are rather simple and basic, including a bed, TV, work desk and a refrigerator free to use. With room sizes around 10m2, depending on the hotel, in some cases it might be difficult to open a trunk on the floor. There are also hotels with only limited or no Twin or Double rooms, because Business Hotels focus on providing accommodation for one person. Nevertheless Business Hotels are also popular among tourists because of convenience and low costs. For that reason, there are also some hotels increasing the number of Twin rooms. Internet access has been installed in most rooms but in some cases, Internet can only be used in the hotel lobby.
